So my tables as mentioned before are a odd size…. 60″wide and 72″ long. This as made it a struggle to find not only linens, but a center piece option as well. My beginning thought was something like this…

Wrapped candle holders
But I didn’t care for the greens. So then I thought why not use a silver try instead…

Candles on a tray
I thought the frames could hold the table numbers and the candle holders would be wrapped in paper like the first picture. But then the width of the table came back to me and I realized I would either have to find much bigger (and more expensive) silver platters to make it look right on that weird oval shaped table. Also we decide to not do assigned table so the frames wouldn’t be there either. Then I saw 2 more pictures….

Candle mass grouping
This got me to thinking about doing candles in mass some wrapped in paper and some wrapped in ribbon. Ours will not be as densely packed as the last picture but will be a large mass like that. We are going to use a bunch of different size vase to make things look mixed.
Because vases can be expensive I am planning to make them ala Miss Crab Cake using wine bottles and jars collected by family and friends. I also bought a bunch at goodwill and was gifted a bunch by a IndieBride who had used them for her wedding. FMIL also has a impressive collection of votive holders I am going to barrow to use inside some of the large ones and all around the wrapped ones.
Yesterday I sat down and punched a whole bunch of them out from the vases, ribbon and paper I had on hand. I have a total of 27 done in 3 of the 4 size ranges I need.

The large size
There will be one of these on each table.

The medium size
There will be 3-4 of these on each table.

The small size
There will be 2-4 of these on each table. As I said I will also be using votive holders and there will be 10-12 of them mixed into the rest of them. As you can see I need a ton more of these to get the tables done. That is part of the reason I am starting now….so they all get done nicely and not in a mad rush at the end. Now I can box these up and send them off to sit in storage till next year.
These are so cute!
