Our invites have gone through several different styles and versions, but 2 things have always stayed the same. One, they would be a pocket fold. Two they would carry our tree motif. Actually I lie, the tree was the second motif we decided to use but once we found it we have not looked back!
Back when our wedding was to be in June2009, we had to do a major venue change to cut the budget and that was when we decided to change our invite motif. We had a very formal wedding planned in the beginning, that called for a very formal invite. I saw an ad for a digital scrapbook paper and decided that this was the new way I wanted to go…
So back to the drawing board I went. I went though iStock and just about every other graphic site I could find and came up empty. Then in my blog reading one day I came acrossed Briar Press. They do reproductions of letter press images that are just wonderful! And the kicker….alot of them are free and in very high res so you can use them with out a pixelation problem. There I found the tree that became our main motif….
After a little photoshop color change we now have a chocolate brown tree that works well for all our paper products! True it is not really a Art Nouveau image, but it works for our new idea.
I will show you how we are going to use this motif to pull everything together in later posts so stay tuned! Has anything like this happened to you, where your project started out one way and then morphed into something completely different?
