This past couple of weeks I have been working on save the dates. We had been planning to print off a 5 x 7 card on our printer and use the same cardstock that we are using for the invites. I have a ton of envelopes that fit that size and we could just use those.
Then I received a email from vista print… 100 free postcards,we pay shipping and for any logo/design upload you want. It comes out to roughly $17 with my front and back photo uploads. When I factor in the time it takes me to print and cut the ones I was going to make and the extra cost for postage I think it will come out as a wash. And I feel that a wash like that that takes one thing of my DIY to do list is a good option.
So with that in mind I downloaded the vista print template for Photoshop and got to work. Now I am really a Photoshop novice so everything I do on it takes some time, since I have never taken a class and learn by messing up. Gotta love the undo and step back commands! I really wanted to use our base motif on the STD’s so I started with that and worked from there. Since we are working with a color front and b/w back on our post cards I only made the front in our colors.
This is what we are going to order in the next couple of weeks…..

Postcard front
Hummm the purple seems to be coming up wrong, but it is the right purple.

Postcard back
I am really really liking how the design turned out and can’t wait to order them! What do you think? Are you planning to use a unconventional printing option for any part of you paper products?
